Artemi Panarin and the New York Rangers will try to advance to the next round Thursday, and Dan Dobish will be blacking the Blueshirts at the betting window.

Wanted by Canes
Necas, who will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, will likely still receive an offer from the Hurricanes after general manager Don Waddell told reporters Monday, "Marty is an exceptionally skilled guy that you're not just going to give up on, that's for sure. We'll deal with it as the summer progresses," per Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site.
ANALYSIS
Necas put together solid numbers in the postseason, producing four goals and five assists in 11 contests, including a pair of power-play points. The 25-year-old center is coming off his second straight 20-plus goal campaign, so he figures to have plenty of suitors heading into free agency.

Those expecting a breakout from Necas last season not only didn't get it, but his performance was actually worse than two years ago. After posting 14 goals and 41 points in 53 games in 2020-21, Necas finished with 14 goals and 40 points in 78 games in 2021-22. Essentially, Necas produced the same exact stat line despite playing in 25 additional games. He was also quiet in the postseason, scoring no goals and managing five helpers in 14 games. There were rumblings Carolina put Necas on the trade block in the offseason but nothing ever came of it. Instead, he inked a two-year, $6 million deal with the team, where he will return for his fourth full season and be available at a cheaper rate in fantasy drafts than this time a year ago.
