2024 Fantasy Outlook
Jimenez missed three weeks in May due to an appendectomy but otherwise stayed mostly healthy in 2023, and his 120 games played is the most since his rookie campaign. Sitting out 42 games is still significant but marks a major improvement from the previous two years, when he appeared in a combined 139 contests. He still missed some time here and there with calf and groin issues, and his .272/.317/.441 slash line was a notable drop from his .295/.358/.500 line in 2022. Jimenez totaled 18 homers, 64 RBI and 50 runs last season, while his .169 ISO was the worst mark of his MLB career. Potential versus durability continues to be the theme for Jimenez, with durability concerns unfortunately winning out to this point. That seems unlikely to change in 2024, though he would be an incredible value for fantasy managers on the off chance he's finally able to play a full season. Read Past Outlooks
Swipes third bag
Jimenez went 1-for-4 with a stolen base Sunday against the Yankees.
ANALYSIS
Jimenez had a hit in all three games of the team's weekend series but none went for extra bases and he also didn't record any RBI or runs. However, he did steal his third base of the season Sunday and his second in his last four games. It's unclear what has led to his sudden aggressiveness on the basepaths, as he had never attempted a stolen base across the first five seasons of his career.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Trade market quiet
According to Bruce Levine of 670TheScore.com, Jimenez is likely to remain with the White Sox for the near future since there's been "very little interest" on the trade market.
ANALYSIS
Jimenez played in 120 games last season -- the first time he's eclipsed 100 since his rookie campaign -- but his .272/.317/.441 slash line was underwhelming. He clubbed 18 homers and had a career-worst .169 ISO, and he may need a strong first half in 2024 for teams to take a renewed interest. Jimenez will make $13 million this year and has club options for 2025 and 2026 at $16.5 million and $18.5 million, respectively, with each carrying a $3 million buyout.

In a season where we saw offense decline as a whole across the league, Jimenez had a chance to shine at the plate in what was a loaded lineup on paper in Chicago. Like many things on the southside, things worked out poorly and Jimenez played in just 84 games on the season. The .295/.358/.500 slash line with 16 homers and 54 RBIs in essentially half a season shows what the young man is capable of when his body and mind are in sync. We should be thankful he did not injure himself in Spring Training with silly stunts, but the hamstring injury in mid April kept him out until early July. Once he shook off the rust, he hit .323/.391/.558 in the second half with 14 of the 16 homers. We do not know what baseball awaits us in 2023, but we do know that this young man has all the potential in the world even if we have yet to see it over the course of a full major league season.
